TGH program in Sri Lanka is part of four-nation program co-ordinated by McGill University, Montreal (click to see), comprising of research and capacity building. I am consultant to the Sri Lanka program led by Chamindra Weerackody, Social Scientist attached to People's Rural Development Association (PRDA) (click to see), Sri Lanka.
The initial research was conducted in
East (Batticaloa area where there are people affected by tsunami and conflict),
South (Hambantota area mainly among people affected by tsunami ) and West
(Puttalam area among Muslim refugees from the North who had been expelled
by LTTE militants in 1990). The research carried out in the East has not
been fully analysed yet but that from other areas have been used for three
publications - the book Mental Health and Wellbeing (see column on
